The Kitchen

So I am sitting at a wine course at UC Davis right now with Keith Casale on my right and Richard Zeller on my left.  If that’s not exciting enough we are learning about chemical compounds that go into specific taints of wine. While I probably could divulge on my current situation I think it would be more appropriate to shy away from brettanomyces, halogenation and trichloroanisol topics and talk about things that don’t hurt my brain, like Mia’s Kitchen. With that being said lets check out what’s cooking…

Mia’s Kitchen is vamping up for the 2010 annual Fancy Food show at the Moscone center in San Francisco.  The fancy food show is an event where suppliers, wholesalers and retailers are put under one roof for 3 days of food demonstration and sales.  It’s like Costco on crack; every sample of any type of specialty food from pasta to salsa to chocolate to beer is up for grabs and as long as you can get through the gates… it’s all you can eat.

The Mia’ s Kitchen flag will be raised on January 17th at 9:00 am at booth 2913. Please join us if you can. We could use all the support that we could get, plus if you stick around long enough and mom gives the ok, we might crack a bottle of Mia’s Playground pinot.

On another note Mia’s Kitchen just signed up with Renaissance Specialty Foods who will now continue to distribute Mia’s Kitchen product’s which means that little miss Mia doesn’t have to drive 2 hours to Los Altos once a monthly to deliver $60 worth of product.  Besides, Renaissance is an awesome group of people who resides right in the middle of the bay area network; right where Mia’s Kitchen wants to be.

Thats Jill, she's got a thing for Barry Zito.

Finally, while we are still on the subject of Mia’s Kitchen, I would like to get a quick  shout of for Jill Ford! The beloved daughter of Don and Son’s very own Darlene Ford, who babysat me for the greater half of my childhood and who regularly gets confused as our one and only Jen Houseman, is now demonstrating Mia’s Kitchen products at local markets around the bay area.  She will be out and about and I am super excited to have her on board. So please support Jill, check out the stores and try some product!

With that being said I am going to get back to learning about s-volatiles and microorganisms… Winemaking, I better be making you proud!

Happy Blogging!
